  • Q: What should I bring to my eye exam appointment?
Please bring your current eyeglasses or contact lenses, a list of any medications you are taking, and your insurance information. If you are a new patient, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Q: What can I expect during my child's pediatric eye exam at My Site?
A: At Central Eye Care, we're dedicated to spotting and treating vision problems in kids early on. During a pediatric eye exam, Dr. Raska will take a thorough look at your child's vision and eye health. The exam includes easy tests for how well they see, how their eyes work together, and their depth perception. We'll also screen for common child eye conditions like amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes). Plus, we check the overall health of their eyes to catch any early signs of eye disease. Our friendly and inviting approach makes sure your child feels comfortable and stress-free throughout the visit. Choosing Central Eye Care for your kid's eye exam means you're taking a great step towards their long-term vision health and well-being.
  • Q: At what age should children have their first eye exam?
A: At Central Eye Care, we recommend that children should have their first comprehensive eye exam at around 6 months of age. Early eye exams are crucial to ensure that your child’s eyes are developing properly and to detect any potential vision issues that could affect their overall development. Children should have another eye exam at age 3, and again before they start school, typically around age 5 or 6. Regular eye exams can help catch issues such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), and other retinal or optic nerve disorders early on when they are most treatable. Our team at Central Eye Care is dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate eye care tailored to your child's needs.
  • Q: What are scleral contact lenses, and how can My Site help with fitting them?
A: Scleral contact lenses are specialized lenses designed to fit over the entire corneal surface and extend onto the sclera (the white part of the eye). These lenses create a fluid-filled reservoir over the cornea, offering comfort to individuals with dry eye disease, keratoconus, or other corneal irregularities. At Central Eye Care, our expert optometrist conducts thorough vision exams and personalized contact lens fittings to ensure the optimal match of scleral lenses to your specific eye shape and needs. We utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess your ocular health comprehensively, ensuring a comfortable and effective solution for your vision care needs. Book an appointment with Central Eye Care today to explore how scleral contact lenses can improve your vision and eye comfort.
  • Q: How can I schedule an eye exam?
You can schedule an eye exam by visiting our website and using the online booking system, or by calling our office directly at (860) 123-4567.

After your thorough vision exam or contact lens fitting, you can effortlessly transition to exploring our wide selection of stylish and functional eyewear. • Q: How often should I schedule an eye exam?
It is recommended to have an eye exam at least once a year to ensure your vision and eye health are in optimal condition. However, your optometrist may suggest a different schedule based on your individual needs.
  • Q: What is Myopia Management Care and how does My Site address it?
A: Myopia Management refers to the specialized approach to slow down the progression of myopia, or nearsightedness, in children and young adults. At Central Eye Care, we offer a comprehensive myopia management program tailored to the needs of our patients. This includes thorough vision exams, personalized treatment plans involving specialized contact lenses or glasses, and in some cases, medication. Our myopia management care is designed to not only correct current vision issues but also to prevent future eye health problems that can be caused by high myopia, such as retinal detachment or glaucoma. Our experienced optometrist's use the latest diagnostic tools and technologies to monitor and manage your child's eye health closely. By providing a proactive and individualized approach, Dr. Raska aims to ensure the best possible long-term outcomes for our patients' vision and overall eye health. If you have concerns about your child's nearsightedness, schedule an appointment with us to discuss how our myopia management care can help.
  • Q: What is Orthokeratology and how does it help in managing myopia at My Site?
A: Orthokeratology, often referred to as Ortho-K, is a non-surgical treatment involving specially designed gas permeable contact lenses that temporarily reshape the cornea to improve vision. At Central Eye Care, we use Orthokeratology primarily for myopia management, especially in children and teens. By wearing these lenses overnight, the cornea is gently reshaped, reducing the need for daytime eyewear while also slowing the progression of myopia. This method not only offers a clearer vision upon waking but also helps in managing the long-term health of your eyes by potentially decreasing the risks associated with high myopia. Dr. Raska is passionate about specialty Contact Lens fittings, and is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye exams and personalized Ortho-K fittings to ensure optimal results and comfort for our patients.
